WAS IT JUST A JOKE??:- Maybe for you not for me!

umm I am a 16 year old girl who suffered from mild bullying like name calling and just some light hearted “jokes” in 1st to 6th grade and finally after 5 years I have the courage to tell people that how much trouble your light hearted friendly “jokes” can cause! Yaa it is a pretty big deal. Probably you don’t even realize how much a 10 year kid is going through! The only advice for parents is please listen to your kids if they want to just sit down and have a chat. Maybe they need you the most right now. if you will be busy building a perfect future for them they may not have a future! and my dear readers if you are going through this at your school just talk to your parents. You don’t need to deal with this alone and I promise they will support you no matter what color/shape/size or sex you are. I know what it feels to be lost, to not look at yourself in mirror, thinking why me?, thinking wouldn’t it be easy to just end everything instead, cursing your own self for everything that someone else does and a truck loaded with self doubt. I understand it all.

“My pain may be the reason for somebody’s laugh. But my laugh must never be the reason for somebody’s pain.”. Maybe people reading this would think what of a big deal is this? it is. You can’t understand this if you haven’t went through it. but I believe that you whether accept it or not everyone at a point of life goes through a phase where you loose hope in yourself the victim of bullying experiences this every time something like name calling or maybe even the light hearted “jokes”. people sometimes don’t realize that how much your one sentence or comment or even a small word can hurt someone. so please do choose wisely before making fun of someone next time.

I believe “People try to say suicide is the most cowardly act a man could ever commit. I don’t think that’s true at all. What’s cowardly is treating a man so badly that he wants to commit suicide.” I hope that by this article I changed some of your perspectives on bullying!

“What if the kid you bullied at school, grew up, and turned out to be the only surgeon who could save your life?” Think about it.
